On an iPad

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap Wi-Fi in the left column
  3. Select the appropriate network 
    • You may have to select Temp or Guest so the device can get settings from the management server
    • Devices assigned to staff should use the Staff network
    • Devices assigned to students should use either Durant-Student or SFHS-Student
    • The device should know the password - if it does not connect to the appropriate network please file a help ticket
  4. Close the Settings app


On a Mac

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi status indicator in the Menu Bar (right side - looks like a radar image)
    • If the status indicator is not in the Menu Bar open System Preferences
    • Select Network (third row)
    • Select Wi-Fi on the left
    • Place a checkmark in the box next to Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar
  2. Make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on
  3. Select the appropriate network
    • You may have to select Temp or Guest so the device can get settings from the management server
    • Devices assigned to staff should use the Staff network
    • Devices assigned to students should use either Durant-Student or SFHS-Student
    • The device should know the password - if it does not connect to the appropriate network please file a help ticket


Changing the preferred Wireless network on a Mac (if your computer keeps connecting to the wrong network when it wakes)

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Select Network
  3. Select Wi-Fi on the left
  4. Click on the Advanced button
  5. You should see a list of every Wi-Fi network you've ever used
  6. You can delete any that you will no longer be using.
  7. Click and drag your preferred network(s) to the top of the list
  8. Either delete the networks you don't want or click and drag them to the bottom
